Cancellations and Refunds
WE
DO NOT ISSUE ANY REFUNDS AT ANY TIME FOR ANY REASON
THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY
NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS POLICY AT ANY TIME FOR ANY REASON
Our
refund policy applies to all fees collected - both the main registration
fee and also any and all extra services and merchandise.
We will not be responsible for any non-refundable fares you purchased on
a local or long distance public transportation carrier as part of your individual
transportation arrangements or transportation services for that event.

Exceptions
We cannot make exceptions to our cancellation or refund
policies at any time for any reason. These reasons include but are not limited
to your personal inability or choice not to participate either before or during
the event itself due to
- inability or unwillingness to agree to and accept the terms of our event
agreement, waiver and release of liability, or any event policy or procedure
- an illness or serious injury
- lack of physical ability to participate in the event including inability
to properly train
- damage to or loss of any personal equipment or property such as a bicycle
or helmet
- unavoidable work responsibilities
- work relocation
- employment termination
- child care
- family emergency or death
- military duty
- jury duty
- adverse weather conditions or natural disasters
- missing the departure time of our transportation services
- unavailability of hotel rooms
- any services purchased but not actually used such as towel, tent, and/or
chair rental
- any seat being unavailable on any public transportation service including
if
- that seat was included or not with the purchase any of our transportation
services
- you were relying on that public transportation schedule for your
individual arrival or departure to or from any event
- any delay preventing you arriving at the event including
- traffic accidents
- public transportation service delays
- any circumstance affecting anyone else including but not limited to your
- family
- friends
- riding partners
- employees
- customers or clients
- work relationships
- any and all other circumstances encountered
Travel Insurance
If you do not participate and would like a refund you
MUST purchase an individual travel insurance plan, which will
reimburse you according to the plan coverage. Many plans are very reasonably
priced.
As part of your initial online registration you will have the option to
purchase an individual travel insurance plan offered through RegShield. This
plan must be purchased as part of your initial online registration - it cannot
be added later.

Force Majure
No refunds will be issued in the event we must modify any part of an event
or are completely unable to run an event on an organizational basis due
to circumstances beyond our control. These
circumstances
include
but
are not limited to disasters and/or catastrophes (natural and/or man made),
government mandates and regulations, pandemics, war, acts of terrorism,
strikes, civil
disorder,
curtailment
of transportation
facilities, or acts
of
God. In this circumstance your existing registration for that event will
be honored as a credit toward any future Bicycle Illinois and Bike Wisconsin
event,
service,
or merchandise item that will never expire.
No insurance company offers a policy
in case an event must be cancelled due to a pandemic.
Why
Can't You Issue Refunds?
We only have ONE opportunity
to earn our money every year for each event and it is simply too risky
as well as just not right for if we cannot do it due to factors
beyond our control.
Organizing
these events is our full-time job as it takes an incredible amount of
time and work to ensure a smooth, well organized event. In fact the vast
majority
of your registration fee actually goes to pay for the preparation for
the event, not the event itself. We are not owned
by a multi-million dollar corporation and if we could not run
an event and had to offer refunds we would go bankrupt. We
simply cannot
take
that
risk as an organization,
particularly
due
to situations
beyond
our control - no one would. Instead, we must
rely on
shifting that risk to
each individual participant through individual travel insurance plans and/or,
in the case of cancellations due to force majure, offering future
credits that will never expire.
