Jorge is a dedicated, experienced, skilled, professional bicycle mechanic
and will travel with us on all of our events throughout the entire ride!
He has
over 25 years of experience as a bike mechanic working in such prestigous
Chicago bike shops as Cycle Smithy, Kozy's, and Performance Bike.
On the road
he will
address any mechanical problems so you can continue to ride that day,
and after the
end of the ride he will also be available in town at the main lodging
site to address any problems so so can be assured that both you and your
bike
will be at your best and fully ready to ride the next day. All payments for all mechanical services, parts, and accessories should
be made directly to our mechanic.
Communications
Our mechanic will be on call via his own individual cell phone and
you should call him directly with all requests for mechanical support.

all
printed regsitration
materials, including all cue sheets and maps.

Parts and Accessories
Our mechanic will have a wide variety of parts and accessories available
to handle most mechanical problems encountered! If you prefer to do your
own work on your bicycle, parts and accessories will also be available
for purchase on their own directly from him,
particularly tubes and tires.
Bicycle Illinois and
Bike Wisconsin branded merchandise will also be available for purchase from
our mechanic in each stopping town.

Parts and accessories are not included in any mechanical repair services,
flat or hourly, and will be billed separately.
Tools and Supplies
Participants
may not use any of our mechanic's tools or supplies to do their own work
due to insurance regulations and to prevent loss and abuse. This includes
the
use of floor
pumps and chain lube in the morning.

Regular and Preventative Maintenance
Our mechanic will only provide services to address specific mechanical problems
and will not perform or provide the tools or supplies to address any type
of regular or preventative maintenance or inspection action, other than the
pre-ride inspection service as part of the optional, paid Mechanical Support
Plan before the first riding day upon request. This includes such things
as daily tire inflation, chain
lube,
or other
lubrication.
If
you need to have these actions performed by our mechanic you will need to
pay him
to have them performed.

Bike Shops
Our
mechanic can also utilize the resources of local bike shops when available
in our stopping towns such as if we need any parts, tools, or services he
can't handle himself.
