Full Price Schedule

We base the price of our round trip transportation service for you, your baggage, and your bike to be about the same as you would have to pay anyway if you drove yourself from Chicago to the RAGBRAI ending town and parked there during the event, the easiest alternative.

Postponed 2020 Participants
If you had originally registered for our RAGBRAI Transportation Service in 2020, we will honor the original rates for this service for you (or anyone you want to transfer your credit amount to) and also guarantee you a seat until 11:59 pm CST March 15th every year until you use your credit amount. We feel it is our duty to provide you with the service you have already paid for, even though we expect the rates for this service to continue increasing every year. You can still use your credit amount to get a discount off our RAGBRAI Transportation Service after 12:00 am CST on March 16th, but after then you will still need to pay the difference between the current rates and those from 2020.

This policy ONLY applies to people who had originally registered for our RAGBRAI Transportation Service in 2020. If you had originally registered for another event in 2020 and want to use your credit amount to register for this year's RAGBRAI Transportation Service you must do so at the current rates due to significantly increasing costs from 2020.

Premium Bicycle Transportation Services

Before the Start of RAGBRAI - $15.00
Bicycles that are loaded on the Saturday morning before the start of RAGBRAI in Chicago and not dropped off with us as part of our standard bicycle transportation service pre-event bicycle drop off will be charged a $15.00 additional fee.

After the End of RAGBRAI - $35.00
Bicycles that are delivered in Chicago on the Saturday evening after the end of RAGBRAI Chicago and not picked up as part of our standard bicycle transportation service post-event bicycle pick up will be charged a $35.00 additional fee.

Postponed 2020 Participants - no additional fee
There will not be any additional fees for our premium bicycle transportation service for postponed participants from 2020, but due to the significant overall logistic benefits we would still REALLY appreciate it if you could use our standard bicycle transportation service instead!

Bicycles That Require Special Handling and Care - $30.00 each way
There will be an additional fee to transport bicycles that require special handling and care such as recumbents, e-bikes, and tandems. However, there will not be an additional charge to transport a tandem bicycle if both people riding it also both register for the same transportation services. Trikes (any bicycle with three or more wheels) are not allowed because we cannot easily and quickly transport them in any support vehicle.

Late Registration Fee - $30.00 each way

Parking
Bicycle Illinois will not be responsible for the payment of any parking fees, you must pay the parking location on your own.

Initial Deposits
Unfortunately we will not know what the full price schedule for our transportation service will be until after the RAGBRAI route is announced every year. This is because the price for our coach busses can vary significantly depending on the mileages between the different possible starting and ending towns and Chicago.

Accordingly, before the RAGBRAI route and our full price schedule is announced we accept registrations on an initial deposit basis. This way you can be guaranteed a spot on our transportation service immediately after you initially register for RAGBRAI itself and guarantee your personal plans as appropriate.

Immediately after the RAGBRAI route is announced we send out requests for quotations from our coach bus companies. After we accept a competitive quotation for the coach busses, we set our full price schedule. This process generally takes anywhere from a couple weeks to about a month. The full prices for our transportation service will not be any less than the initial deposit amounts.

In addition, we may also need to adjust the final price for other services and fees as well, such as premium bicycle transportation services and bicycles that require special handling and care.

We will announce our full price schedule shortly after the RAGBRAI route is announced.
