Overall Information

Check In and Opening Meeting We will have three separate, identical opening meetings: Friday evening: 7:30 pm at the supported hotel Saturday morning: 8:00 am at the central rest stop location Sunday morning: 8:00 am at the central rest stop location

Our main opening meeting will be on Friday at 7:30 pm at the supported hotel. If possible, we prefer that you attend this session so you can have the most amount of time to review our routes, meet and socialize with your fellow participants, and install our individual GPS units on your handlebars and practice using them (if we provide them instead of painting the routes).

If you will not be able to check in and attend the opening meeting on Friday evening, you must check in and attend the opening meeting at 8:00 am on the first day you want to ride. We will also give you your registration materials at this time.

After you attend an opening meeting you can begin riding whenever you want. For example, participants who check in on Friday evening will be able to start riding any time they want on Saturday and Sunday.

Riding Times

Friday
Friday will be a transportation and administrative day only. We will not offer any on road support services on Friday - our only days of supported cycling will be on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday and Sunday
The route will open at 8:00 am both days. This will give participants staying at the supported hotel plenty of time to eat breakfast and ride over to the central rest stop location.

The route will close at 4:00 pm both days. At this time all riders must be done riding and off the route and rest stop and on road support support services will no longer be available. This closing time will give all participants plenty of time to take a shower and travel over to the train and bus station if they will be using our transportation service from Champaign to Chicago after the end of the ride on Sunday.

Showers
We will have showers available available after the end of the ride both days very close to the central rest stop location. This is particularly useful on Sunday when participants staying at the hotel will not be able to shower there since they will have to check out of the hotel before they are done riding.

After you are done riding for the day you should walk over to the showers with your shower items (towels, washcloth, soap, etc.) and leave your bike and other baggage at the central rest stop location. We will watch them for you since there will not be a secure place to these them at the showers.

Dinner and Evening Activities
Dinner and evening activities will be on your own and are not included in registration. Restaurants are available within an easy walking or biking distance from the supported hotel. Most participants are usually interested in going out together to get to know each other a little better and we will help coordinate this on an informal basis.

Nightly Lodging
Nightly lodging is not included with registration. We highly recommend making your reservations at our supported hotel now to reserve your room and avoid potential availability issues from other participants or anyone else (you can always cancel later).
