Getting to the Start and from the End

Getting to the start and/or from the end of the tour using our transportation services can seem confusing at first but really it's not!

It all depends on where you want to initially meet us and park your car (if applicable) - Chicago, Carbondale, or at one of our supported mid-route towns in between. Then it depends on if you want to continue on the Tri-State Tour Chicago Century #2 after the end of Bicycle Illinois.

Initial Arrival Location

Initial Arrival in Chicago
You will need to register for our transportation service to Carbondale and Cairo on the Saturday before the start of the tour. This option is most popular with participants from the Chicago area and areas north of there such as Milwaukee and Detroit.

This transportation service includes transporation from Carbondale to Cairo so you do not need to also register for our transportation service from Carbondale to Cairo before the start of the tour (this service is only for participants initially meeting us in Carbondale).

Initial Arrival in Carbondale
This option is most popular with participants from areas in and around southern Illinois including Carbondale, St. Louis, Louisville, and Nashville.

Unfortunately long term parking during the tour will not be available in Cairo so participants who want to initially park their car at the start of the tour must park their car in Carbondale and take both our transportation service from Carbondale to Cairo on the Saturday before the start of the tour and also our transportation service after the end of the tour from Chicago on either Saturday (if you ARE NOT participating the Tri-State Tour #2) or on Sunday (if you ARE participating the Tri-State Tour #2).

Initial Arrival at a Mid-Route Stop
You will need to register for our transportation service to Carbondale and Cairo on the Saturday before the start of the tour and select which town you will meet us at (other than Chicago).

To get back to that town after the end of the tour you may also need to register for our transportation service after the end of the tour from Chicago on either Saturday (if you ARE NOT participating the Tri-State Tour #2) or on Sunday (if you ARE participating the Tri-State Tour #2) and select which town you will depart at (other than Carbondale).

This option is most popular with participants from areas in and around central Illinois.

Initial Arrival in Cairo
If you will not need to park your car at the start of the tour (such as if you are just getting dropped off), we strongly recommend initially arriving in Cairo rather than in Carbondale. Doing so will eliminate having to pay for or use our transportation service from Carbondale to Cairo.
