Arrival, Check In, Opening Meeting, and Route Opening

Starting from Hammond
PLEASE PLAN ON ARRIVING AT THE STARTING LOCATION PROMPTLY AT 6:00 AM – OTHER PARTICIPANTS WILL BE DEPENDING ON YOU. It is critical that all participants promptly leave the starting location on time in order to maximize the amount of time they have to complete the event.

Check in at the starting location will begin at 6:00 am and end promptly at 7:00 am because like you, we will need to get ready for the upcoming ride. Please plan on checking in as early as possible because the more time you have to get your bike ready and to stock up on snacks and sports drinks for the upcoming ride the better. In addition, we will not be able to assure a timely departure if all our participants decide to check in at 6:40 am.

  • Click Here for more information about checking into the event.

At 7:15 am we will conduct a mandatory opening meeting where we will describe our policies and procedures and answer any questions you might have. After the opening meeting is complete the route will officially open with a group departure. Participants may not depart before the route opens.

Rest Stops and Route Closing Times
There will be 5 supported rest stops on the route including the ending location and we will provide our on road support services during the times the rest stops and routes are officially open.

The route will close at 6:30 pm in order to assure a timely departure for the return transportation service from Kenosha. All participants must have arrived at the ending location in Kenosha by that time, including participants doing the Kenosha century loop option.

Lunch
A deli, hot dog, and ice cream stand will be available directly at rest stop 4 and we strongly recommend planning on eating lunch there. Rest stop 4 will be the perfect distance to have lunch at, and you can be absolutely positive you be able to depart rest stop 4 by its closing time.

Arrival at the Ending Location and Check Out
Your arrival time at the ending location to be anywhere from early afternoon to mid-evening and depends on a number of different factors.

Dinner
Dinner after the end of the event will be on your own and is not included in registration. Downtown Kenosha is very close to our ending location and we highly recommend bringing some money with you getting dinner there, particularly if you will be taking the return transportation from Kenosha back to Chicago or Hammond.
