Carbondale to Cairo

Arrival in Cairo
 We
are pleased to offer transportation service from Carbondale
to Cairo on the
Saturday before the start of the tour.
This transportation service is primarily for
participants who initially meet us in Carbondale. If you
register for the transportation service to Carbondale and Cairo,
this transportation service is
already included - you do
not need to register for it separately.
Parking at the Start of the Tour
Because parking will not be available in Cairo, participants
who want to initially park their car at the start of the
tour must park their car in Carbondale and take
this transportation service from
Carbondale
to
Cairo. We will not offer transportation service from
Carbondale to Cairo after the end of the tour.
Carbondale
Transportation Staging Point
The Amtrak Train Station will be the transportation staging point in
Carbondale. Parking for the tour will be there and participants
taking our transportation service to Carbondale and Cairo before the
start
of
the tour will arrive there on the Amtrak train at 1:45 pm according to schedule.
We should arrive at the Carbondale Amtrak train station
very close to the scheduled train arrival time of 1:45
pm. If the train arrives before we do, we will arrive very
soon after.

We will load the bicycles and
baggage of the participants initially meeting us in Carbondale
promptly after we arrive.
Participants initially
arriving in Carbondale should arrive
no later than 1:15
pm, at least 30 minutes before the scheduled arrival time
of the train.
Transportation of People
Participants will travel from Carbondale to Cairo
aboard a bus. Registration for the transportation
service
from Carbondale to Cairo includes your bus ticket. Bathrooms
and overhead racks will not be available on the
bus so you
will
need to use the bathroom at the Carbondale Amtrak train station
before you leave.
We
estimate that
the bus will
depart Carbondale
at approximately 2:30 pm and
arrive in Cairo at 4:00 pm, which is about
a 1 1/2 hour ride.
Arrival
in Cairo
Upon arrival into Cairo, we will initially stop at the
supported hotel and drop off participants who are staying
there. We will then stop at the main lodging site and drop
off the remaining participants.
