Overall Route Description
The route from Centralia to Effingham is generally flat and passes through sparsely populated areas with lush forests and rolling hills. This is Illinois oil country and many times you'll see oil drums and oil derricks pumping. Coming into Salem there is a beautiful stretch of road where the tree limbs have almost completely covered the road like a canopy and you will definitely want to get a picture. Coming into and out of Effingham there are also some great rolling hills through sparsely populated areas dotted with forests.

Century Option
The century option will be a century loop that both starts and ends at the Effingham main lodging site. A rest stop will be set up at the main lodging site to replenish yourself before riding the century option.
